We bought this small gem to record to europe. First impressions are exactly the same favorable. It’s small, reliable, then prints beautifully. At genuine more than four pounds, it’s perfect on behalf of travel.
The small bluetooth adaptor also works exactly the same well. Reading the manual (!), i discovered it is possible to mount the adapter permanently inside the printer extremely that it’s not exposed then doesn’t require attachment each time it is used. This is a simple procedure, then enhances the usefulness of the bluetooth capability that is all but de rigueur in spite of traveling. The installation / setup information is also inner the electronic manual that comes on the cd.
But because good because the printer is, it does not come with (nor does canon offer) a case of any kind. I found the perfect solution – from case-mate: go to http://www.case-mate.com/laptop/macbookpro15/15gblackcases2 then buy the ‘glovez 15″‘ sleeve (like a large envelope with a velcro closure / flap). It comes inner an assortment of colors then is a skin-tight (but exactly the same workable) fit inner the ‘length’ direction. When inserted, the Canon PIXMA iP100 Printer doesn’t record up each bit of the case inner the ‘width’ direction, meaning there is genuine enough room to also accommodate the cord then ac brick. Throw these in, close the flap, then you’re always ready to roll.
Best part: this ‘glovez’ sleeve is just $9.99 $3.99 s/h, then gets to you inner a few days. It’s not bulky – genuine what one wants to protect the printer but not record up room. (as an aside, the case-mate glovez 13″ [for the macbook 13" then air] fits the lenovo thinkpad x300 perfectly).
